About Sapphyre Miria
Sapphyre Miria, L Ac., Dipl. O.M. graduated with a BS in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech in 2005 and began working in healthcare. She quickly arrived at the conclusion that Western medicine is great for acute injuries and illnesses but not as helpful in curing chronic disease or maintaining healthy homeostasis. This observation left her feeling disillusioned with her career choice, so she shifted gears into organic vegetable seed farming. It was during her ten years as a farmer that she discovered her love of medicinal plants and began studying herbalism in all its forms. Eventually, this love of plants inspired her to return to healthcare but from a more holistic approach. She moved to the Bay Area from the East Coast in 2018 to learn acupuncture and Chinese herbology at the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences in Oakland, CA. She graduated with her MS TCM April 2022. Her love of learning also has her continuing her education by pursuing her DAOM at ACCHS, which she completed in December of 2024.
Her primary areas of interest are Sa'am acupuncture, Shen-Hammer Pulse diagnosis and Jing Fang herbalism. She also utilizes orthopedic acupuncture methods such as myofascial trigger point needling and proloacupuncture when appropriate. She loves helping others receive the profound benefits of these modalities. She is especially excited to demonstrate how quickly these ancient techniques engage and restore the body's own ability to heal and self-correct.
She operates SoulFire Health & Help while also remotely managing the clinic at Contra Costa Acupuncture and teaching for ACCHS and Lotus Professional College.
